> Our protagonist, Ki, drifts through space in their mech:

> Ki's mech flies to a massive ship and drills a hole in the hull

> A trio of fighter mechs drifts down to the hole our protoganist made. INTERCOM: We'll go in and secure the cargo, you stay put until we're ready to unload it. INTERCOM: Come on boys, let's go wreak some havoc! KI: All that's left... is the task at hand We fade to a scene on the planet BROKER: Why are you here? I already paid you

> KI: This isn't the amount you said it would be BROKER: I said you'd get a cut of the final profit. Jax's boys saw more resistance than they were expecting and needed repairs. I'm not about to get on their bad side. KI: What am I supposed to do then? I was counting on a full payment. BROKER: Not my problem, kid

> BROKER: I can let you know if any new jobs come in. How does that sound? We cut to a short time later. KI: Fucking asshole! Ki kicks a stone. Seeing it fall to the ground, they're reminded of the planet's gravity. KI: This planet's too damn heavy.

> Ki opens the door to their apartment. KI: Well, at least we should still have enough for rent. KI: Hey Kanarra, I'm back. Kanarra? Ki notices a letter on an end table KI: What's this, leaving for the Inner Worlds? KI: Great, this again. Guess we'll see if she comes back this time

> Ki flops onto the bed. KI: The Inner Worlds, huh? Ki stares at the ceiling fan. KI: What the hell am I doing here? We fade back to space KI: There we go...

| Once again, Ki's cutting through the hull of a ship in their mech. KI: Just a little bit more. Above them, an enemy mech spots them. Carefully, it pulls out a laser sword

> The enemy mech floats down, ready to strike KI: That should do it INTERCOM: Hey Gearhead, behind you! Ki dodges out of the way just in time KI: The hell? There aren't supposed to be guards here! Ki pulls out a laser sword of their own.

> Ki slices through the enemy mech. It disintegrates into thousands of pieces. Through the wreckage, Ki spots the hand of its pilot KI: Shit!

> Ki flies back, trying to leave as quickly as possible. KI: Shit shit shit shit SHIT! Dammit! Nobody was supposed to be here! Ki buries their head in their hands and drifts aimlessly for a second INTERCOM: Hey...

> One of the fighter mechs floats over to Ki INTERCOM: That one got past us. You all right? Ki calms down enough to answer the question. KI: ...yeah...I'm fine. Let's keep going We fade back to the planet. Ki's smoking in their apartment. There's a knock on the door

> Ki puts out the cigarette their working on. KI: Ugh who is it? Ki opens the door and finds Kanarra waiting. KANARRA: Hey KI: Hey, you're back? KANARRA: Yeah...

> Ki pauses for a moment before smiling KI: Welcome back
